Tyrant King and a Quirky Chef!
Bon Appétit, Your Majesty brings together two opposite characters, a man used to be obeyed and a woman who is confident and not the one who obeys everything she is told to do. But, over a period of time these two have been winning hearts with their cute fights and sassy remarks. It has been wonderful to see two terrific actors Lee Chae-Min (King Yi-Heon) and Yoona of Girl’s Generation(Yeon Ji-Yeong) to show a chemistry that is looking as one of the best on-screen pairings
You will not miss the fun!
From the moment this drama has started, it is fun, quirky and interesting. From the first interaction the enemies-to-lover arc has been written beautifully. Moreover, the cooking angle is explored properly with the fun element intact. Also, the other interactions of Ji-Yeong with others have been explored and developed to an extent. The only thing that’s missing is more romance between the leads. WIth their chemistry it would have been so adorable as a couple dating in the Joseon Era.
Inherent mystery and suspense!
With the time travel theme embedded in its core, everyone is waiting to find out how they will resolve it. Will Yeon Ji-Yeong be able to go back to 2025 again? Will they both come together by the end or will it be another K-Trauma for the fans of this couple? All these questions,along with the politics,are definitely running in the minds of the audience. So, it has been quite successful in keeping the people on the edge!

Bon Appétit, Your Majesty is on the right path because people desperately want the couple to have a happy ending. And there is a chance that it actually might come true. The following paragraph could be a spoiler. So please read only if you are okay with it.

In the source material The Tyrant’s chef on which it is based on, the ending can be seen as a unique one which keeps the history and the love story intact. The Tyrant King Yi-Heon sacrifices himself to save his beloved by taking a fatal blow from a sword meant for her. His sacrifice acts as a fulfilling price for the Mangunrok to transport Ji-Yeong back to the 2025 era. There she struggles with Yeon’s death, but it is as if fate had shown mercy on her.
Yi-Heon’s sacrifice also leads to his soul being transported to 2025. He will again come in front of her as a man free from the shackles of the past. If not in the Joseon Era, our chef and tyrant might have their happily ever after in the current Era.
But, all of it is a possibility. Hopefully, you get the happy ending you want. And with the kind of characters there, it would be the perfect setting for Season 2. Fingers Crossed!
